The Kitchen Garden Programme aims to develop skills and values that contribute to sustainable living practices such as composting, recycling, and growing and cooking with local produce. The programme also aims to develop personal and social skills by giving students the opportunity to work effectively in groups and learn about personal hygiene and safety.
On a fortnightly rotation the students cook delicious food from the onsite school garden. On alternate weeks, the students work in our school garden focusing on growing a variety of fruits and vegetables as well as sustainable practices that include recycling. This program is based heavily on further developing our school values, students’ personal strengths and capabilities and life skills.
